Project Description: Gujarat Urban Development Company Limited (GUDC), on behalf of the Government of Gujarat (GoG) in partnership with Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS) is developing a globally benchmarked Financial Services City. This Financial Services City shall be known as the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT). GUDC and IL&FS are promoting the project in public-private-partnership mode through a joint venture company, Gujarat Finance Tec-City Company Limited (GIFTCL).

IL&FS Ecosmart Ltd is bestowed with responsibility of preparing the Concept Design for Solid Waste Management of the City and further the detail designing of the same.

The design of the Solid Waste Management envisaged Automated Waste Collection & Transportation system to different processing & treatment facility. The system will treat waste generating to the tune of 280 tons per day. A fully mechanized system for waste recycling is conceptualized which would recover valuable recyclable material to the highest efficiency. The non recyclable material will be incinerated by plasma gasification unit to produce energy and minimizing generation of rejects going to the landfill. The design of Solid Waste Management in GIFT would be first of its kind in the country.
