Mr. Mahesh Babu is a Masters in International Economics and Relations, Johns Hopkins University, (School of Advanced International Studies) and a MBA from Xaviers’s Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur, India. He has over 20 years of experience predominantly in Project Finance.

Mahesh has international experience in advisory services, structuring and arranging finance for projects across sectors in Latin America, Europe, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz and Asia. In India, he has worked on formulation of privatization and reform strategy for Central Public Enterprises in India, structuring and funding of infrastructure projects developed under the Public Private Partnership format in transportation and water supply sector. He has worked extensively with multilateral internationals including the World Bank.

As the CEO of IL&FS Ecosmart, he is actively involved in evaluation of project feasibility for accessing carbon credits for the waste management and energy efficiency sectors.

Mr. Mahesh Babu is also the Managing Director of IL&FS Waste Management and Urban Services Ltd. (IWMUSL). IWMUSL is a Waste Management and Urban Infrastructure services company.
